As the Deer : ウィキペディア英語版
As the Deer

''As the Deer'' is a well-known praise and worship song by Martin J. Nystrom, a native of Seattle, Washington. Written in 1981, this song is based on Psalm (42:1 );
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God."

== Lyrics ==
As the deer panteth for the water

    So my soul longeth after You

You alone are my heart's desire

    And I long to worship You.
''Chorus''
''You alone are my strength, my shield
''
    ''To You alone may my spirit yield
''
''You alone are my heart's desire
''
    ''And I long to worship you
''
I want You more than gold or silver

    Only You can satisfy.

You alone are the real joy Giver

    And the apple of my eye.
You're my friend and You are my brother

    Even though You are a king.

I love You more than any other,

    So much more than anything.〔http://www.songlyrics.com/maranatha!-singers/as-the-deer-lyrics/〕
There are also different variations of this song that are quite common, such as:
As the deer pants for the water

so my soul longs after you
Many versions〔e.g. http://www.higherpraise.com/Lyrics/7_AsTheDeer.htm〕 preserve the "Thee" of the King James Version of the psalm verse also in the refrain ("And I long to worship Thee"), resulting in a clash of with the previous line (which ought to be "''Thou'' alone ''art'' my heart's desire" to keep the Elizabethan English).
